I am going to share with you my recipe for toothpaste. Not only does commercial toothpaste have fluoride in it, but it also contains a vast array of hazards, one of which is aspartame, a very toxic artificial sweetener There are many things you can add to this basic recipe, but the important things are the coconut oil and the baking soda. For whiter teeth you can use turmeric or hydrogen peroxide. For a sweeter paste you can add stevia.
Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial agent plus its anti-fungal. Brushing it on your tongue helps with thrush, and if you have gingivitis you can even rub it directly on your gums.
Baking soda is slightly abrasive, so it helps scrub your teeth nice and clean, plus its alkaline, so it helps your neutralize acids that cause tooth decay.
- 2 tbls baking soda
- 2 tbls coconut oil
- 10 drops of food grade peppermint oil extract
Put it all in a blender, or a food processor and mix it up, but you can also just mix it with a fork. If you do it with a fork, make sure the coconut oil is melted first (just run the jar under hot water) Store it in a jar with a lid. I put the paste on my toothbrush with a Popsicle stick.
To freshen your breath naturally, you can chew on fennel seeds, or eat a piece of parsley. Cinnamon, as well, is a natural breath freshener. Remember, your body odors are directly caused by what you eat. Bad breath starts in your gut. Put in crap, get out crap (breath).
Eating hard foods like a carrot or an apple, where you need to chew thoroughly, also help to naturally clean your teeth. Eating white breads, white flours, white sugars also speeds the process of tooth decay and bone loss, because it robs your body of calcium.
The Case Against Fluoride:
If you weren’t already aware, fluoride is a by-product of waste material. I’m not talking about the natural fluoride, because it is a naturally occurring substance in nature, and it IS in water, placed there at natural levels by mother nature. But this naturally occurring substance is calcium fluoride…The fluoride added to your drinking water, fluorosilicic acid, is claimed to “improve public health.” This is a misnomer. This fluorosilic acid is actually is a chemical concoction of over 100 different toxins, industrial chemicals and metals.
So where do we get this “fluoride” from? Most of the fluoride we get in America is bought from China. One company, Lianyungang Jialei International Trade Co., Ltd., [ Jiangsu, China (Mainland) ], clearly states in the description of the product:
NaF is an important fluoride, used as pesticides and bactericides in agriculture.
Used as wood conservative, water treatment agent, ceramic pigment and fluoride treatment of light metal.
Used as UF2 adsorbent in neclear industry.
Used as materials for making other fluoride chemicals, in enamel industry, toothpaste ,medical industry, paper-making industry, building materials, etc.
Protection Measures for Product Transport & Storage:
To prevent from caking and going bad, it should be kept indoor or be covered with protection materials like canvas and free from the blazing sun.
Dangerous class: 6.1 noxious & corrosive
In fact it is so dangerous, that when there’s a spill in the plants where fluoride is kept, it eats holes through the concrete and they need to wear hazmat suits to clean it up. “…found study after study dating back to the 80’s from respected academic and scientific institutions that connect fluoride to health dangers. Some of the studies were funded by the government. They suggest fluoride can be linked to brain, blood and bone deficiencies in humans. This past summer, Harvard University released a report after reviewing 27 studies of children in China exposed to fluoride. It concluded the higher the fluoride exposure, the lower the child’s IQ.” Later in the same report, they “discovered most western countries do not fluoridate their water. Research is now finding links to higher cancer and heart disease rates in cities with fluoridated water, and that it even leads to genetics defects. Part of the problem with adding fluoride to the water is that we not only drink it, we add it to our babies formula’s, we ingest it in toothpaste, its in our processed cereal, juice, soda, tea, wine, beer, fish, fluoridated salt, anesthetics and cigarettes. They even use fluoride in the production of our food, and toxic levels have been found in non organic produce like grapes. (as if you needed another reason to eat organic!)
“As a calcifying tissue that is exposed to a high volume of blood flow, the pineal gland is a major target for fluoride accumulation in humans. In fact, the calcified parts of the pineal gland (hydroxyapatite crystals) contain the highest fluoride concentrations in the human body (up to 21,000 ppm F), higher than either bone or teeth. (Luke 1997; 2001). Although the soft tissue of the pineal does not accumulate fluoride to the same extent as the calcified part, it does contain higher levels of fluoride than found than in other types of soft tissue in the body — with concentrations (~300 ppm F) that are known in other contexts to inhibit enzymes. While the impacts of these fluoride concentrations in the pineal are not yet fully understood, studies have found that calcified deposits in the pineal are associated with decreased numbers of functioning pinealocytes and reduced melatonin production (Kunz et al., 1999) as well as impairments in the sleep-wake cycle. (Mahlberg 2009).”
Some even call our pineal gland our “third eye” linking it and our spiritual nature together.
Symptoms of fluoride toxicity include:
- dental fluorosis
- sharp stomach pains
- nausea and bowel irritability
- arthritic pains in the lower spine
- back stiffness
- migraine-like headaches
- mouth ulcers (worse if using fluoridated toothpaste),
- dryness of mouth and excessive thirst
- extreme fatigue
- allergic skin reactions.
Steps to removing flouride from your body:
- Make your own toothpaste
- buy organic produce
- don’t eat processed foods
- Install an osmosis water filter. If you live where water is fluoridated, the only way to get it out is by using an osmosis filter. - increase your intake of vitamin C. Russian researchers have found that the more Vitamin C we ingest, the more fluoride is excreted in our urine. Liver detox’s also work, so drinking dandelion tea, sasparrilla tea, and burdock root tea all will help to cleanse the body.
We might be a society with beautiful teeth, but at what cost to our health?
Please do your own research on this subject. Make your own informed decisions. I have left the world of fluoride behind, leaving it to the once a year dentist visit as I feel it should be, but not everyone will come to the same conclusion. I bring this topic up becaus it is one I feel strongly about and if we never debate things, then nothing will ever change.
